Why does my EDA component sometimes display a flat line?

Question Last Updated on: 6/7/2007

Just as on an analog instrument the EDA will sometimes display a flat line during testing. It is always recommended to make sure that your subject has washed their hands with warm water and soap before the test and make sure they have not placed makeup or lotion on their hands. Try not to use soaps or prep pads with alcohol. If you have already recorded a chart you can also refer to the EDA Ohms table on the right side of the chart. If there is almost no difference between Average, Min. and Max. resistance or the resistance reaches 2.0 M (megaohms) then the subject is either not reacting or is reacting beyond the limits of what the DAS can measure. If your problem persists please give us a call.
